These are the main versions of the crash of the Boeing 737-800 of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), in which all were killed on January 8 – 167 passengers and 9 crew members on board. UA-Times monitors the course of events and communicates with experts to find out what really happened in the Iranian sky.
According to preliminary data, the most likely reason of the disaster in Iran is a missile attack from the ground or a terrorist attack on board an aircraft. This was reported to us by informed sources related to the investigation of past disasters.
In the opinion of specialists involved in the circumstances of the incident, the short-term incident and relatively low altitude “2400 meters”, at 8th minute of the flight, the crew did not report an emergency situation on board “in any case, there is no information about this till yet”.
“It happens when something out of the ordinary happens. like a liner hits a rocket, or an explosive device is activated, and the pilots do not have time to respond, namely to send a message to the dispatch services, expert said to UA-Times.
“All the experts, and the commissions of inquiry has just begun work, and we would not want to look like incompetent upper eyes, This is subtle matter, both from a moral and political point of view. We can only speculate what happened. Without a clear picture, without details, everything else is fiction. We understand the impatience of journalists who are the first to find out the causes of an emergency, but it will take some time, and this is inevitable”.
UIA excludes crew errors the aircraft commander, co-pilot and instructor pilot well-trained, with a large flying hours and high qualifications. in particular This was not their first flight to Tehran.
First information about the disaster of the Iranian authorities and Ukrainian embassy in Tehran, a purely technical factor was pointed out in hot pursuit – the engine failure allegedly led to the tragedy (the Boeing 737 has two). “We were embarrassed and puzzled that this was announced a priori, as already a proven fact, although only a couple of hours have passed”.
The new plane, which was only three and a half years old, received at the manufacturer’s factory, was not a second-hand one, two days before the accident, undergoing a scheduled inspection that did not reveal any violations, and the engine … A little later this information disappeared, but an unpleasant residue remained.
The experts spoked also about the possibility explosion on board. However, the Khomeini International Airport in Tehran has always been distinguished by the strictest security measures. Comparable to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport in Israel, where it is also very meticulous to inspect both its own personnel and passengers, crew members, hand luggage».
“It is unlikely that in Iran,” our interlocutors say, “someone could lay an explosive device so that it would go unnoticed on board and then be activated … A multilevel check at different stages would reveal a dangerous object even before passing through the passenger check-in and baggage check” experts said.
In another hand, still not clear the identity of two passengers who having the tickets, and didn’t flyaway on a deadly flight. And why. It was an accident – or intended!
Eyewitnesses noted, and as evident in the video which uploaded on social networks, that plane burned even before contact with the ground and the explosion, and no one had a chance to survive.
The surviving flight recorders will be able to partially answer the mystery questions, but deciphering them will require from several days to whole months. In addition, it is not known where and who will decrypt them. During the day, the Iranian authorities still decided whether to give “black boxes” to the Ukrainian side. But they have already refused to transfer it to Boeing.
Lately it became known that the Iranians themselves will decipher the flight recorders. Apparently, they do not trust anyone.
“I understand everything the plane was shot down by a ground-to-air missile, possibly a MANPADS “man-portable air defense system – Aut.”, it doesn’t matter, Soviet-made or Western. Such “Arrows” or “Stingers” dushmans shot down Soviet planes in Afghanistan … Pilots could not do anything … the kingdom of heaven and the crew and passengers … Aviation – a risk zone. And in such regions where hostilities are taking place, it’s dangerous dozens of times. ” . This was confirmed by one of our interlocutors. An experienced pilot with years of experience in Ukrainian and foreign airlines.
“The bodies of passengers and crew members were badly damaged, the remains need DNA identification, and this will take time,” adds another expert who has repeatedly worked on the site of a number of plane crashes. – I do not think that in Ukraine they will identify all victims.”
Observers noted careful parallels with the crash of the Malaysian Boeing 777 over Donbass region in July 2014, where 298 passengers and crew died. An investigation has not yet been officially completed.
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and presidents of several other states expressed his condolences to the victims Families.
