As of evening of March 18, the number of laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine amounted to 16, two patients died. UA-Times agency has prepared for its readers an interactive map of coronavirus distribution in Ukraine.According to official Ministry of Health’s report, during the day of March 17, Public Health Center received 41 suspicions of COVID-19 (Vinnitsa 3, Dnipropetrovsk 5, Donetsk 3, Zakarpatskaya 3, Ivano-Frankivsk 3, Kyiv 14, Nikolaevskaya 1, Rovnenskaya 2, Sumskaya 2 , Ternopil 2, Kherson 1, Cherkasskaya 1, Chernivtsi 1).
Since the beginning of 2020, a total of 181 reports of suspected COVID-19 have been received. 16 of them already confirmed.
In Chernivtsi region there were 10 such patients and, as you know, a 33-year-old woman died. In Kyiv region, where a state of emergency was declared on Wednesday, two cases. In Zhytomyr region, one fatal case – an elderly woman who returned from Poland died. The first case of infection in Donetsk region was confirmed, and two, as was previously known, in Kyiv.
Ministry of Health reported that 51 patients with suspected infection and 103 contact persons appeared on Wednesday. According to regional laboratories, 6 samples were tested by PCR and all showednegative results.
However, in evening, information was received from the head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration that they had first patient hospitalized with suspected infection with COVID-19. According to available information, woman has recently returned from Italy. The tests were taken, which were sent to a reference laboratory in Kyiv for testing on COVID-19.
