The capital’s regional state administration approved the relevant provision. Now they are waiting for a response step from KSCA.On the website of Kyiv region State Administration it is indicated that on March 18, 2020, an extraordinary meeting of the regional commission on technological environmental safety and emergency situations.
“After analyzing the epidemic situation in Kyiv region caused by the COVID-19 virus, we have decided to classify it as a ‘regional-level biomedical emergency of natural character’ and temporarily introduce an emergency situation mode in the territory of Kyiv region. Oleg Torkunov, deputy chairman of KOGA, was appointed the head of work on eliminating the biomedical emergency of a natural nature at the regional level. Maxim Ionov, Director of KOGA Health Department, has been appointed the head of the emergency response staff.
“In conditions where we need to focus as much as possible on the fight against COVID-19, we are taking all measures at the regional level,” said Vasily Volodin, temporary acting chairman of Kyiv regional state administration. – First of all, those related to the support of medical workers, material and technical support of hospitals and information support of the population.
