On April 8, five tons of disinfectant liquid were sent by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine by plane of the National Guard to Rome. The dispatch was carried out in accordance with the decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Italy’s assistance in combating the coronavirus pandemic. In Rome, aid package handed to Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.
The press services of State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Department of Communication of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs quote Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sergey Honcharov that this second part of Italy’s assistance. “We are sending five tons of special sanitizers, which will be used to disinfect hospitals and the hands of medical workers,” Honcharov said.
In addition, the deputy said that the Italian government expressed gratitude to Ukraine for this support.
Italian Ambassador to Ukraine David La Cecilia thanked the President of Ukraine and Interior minister for the assistance the Italian doctors needed.
Humanitarian aid is accompanied by employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Recall that previously 20 Ukrainian doctors has arrived Italy to help doctors.
