The Ukrainian government held transparent tenders and the first two ports were granted concessions. The government is preparing 12 more facilities for concession tenders.
Ukrainian prime minister Oleksiy Honcharuk called it a “huge step towards development”, reporting to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He also approved the transfer of more than 500 facilities to privatization in the first 4 months of government activity. “It’s more than 10 years before that,” Now about 300 more objects are ready for privatization”. Honcharuk said.
Prime minister comments on need for privatization as follows: “One of the main problems of our economy is immobile. Its huge part is in state ownership. That is, the profits are privatized, and all the losses remain with us. ”
“Thousands of businesses exist only on paper. the real income, as a rule need a diverge in pockets. It is necessary to transfer the maximum part of the economy to an effective private owner.” Honcharuk on Telegram.
Kherson seaport transferred to the concession of the Swiss-Georgian company. Also, the Olvia seaport was given to the Qatari concession.
Recall, president of the Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine, Grigol Katamadze, in an interview with UA-Times assessed these first concession projects: “This included good players with experience, with opportunities. The Qatari company Risoil-Kherson, which won in Kherson, is very interested in this project.”
